At Ryan LaRose Photography, I’m committed to creating high-quality, intentional imagery tailored to each client’s needs. Every session is designed with purpose — whether you’re looking to elevate your professional presence or preserve meaningful moments.
All sessions follow a clear, straightforward pricing structure: a flat session fee, plus image purchases based on what you choose to keep. This approach ensures flexibility, transparency, and that you only invest in the images that truly matter to you. All purchased images include licensing for both personal and professional use.
For headshot sessions, we work collaboratively throughout the shoot, reviewing images as we go. This allows for real-time adjustments and ensures we’re capturing images that align with your goals and intended use.
For family, senior, and engagement sessions, you’ll receive a curated online proof gallery after the session. Once images are carefully selected and edited, you’ll choose your final images from the gallery at your own pace.
Introduction
Headshots vs Portraits
Headshot
Headshot sessions are focused and guided, with images captured from the chest up. The emphasis is on expression, posture, and clean professional lighting.
Throughout the session, I provide real-time coaching to help you find the angles and expressions that work best for you. Backgrounds and wardrobe changes may be incorporated to provide variety while maintaining a consistent, polished look.
Portraits
Portrait sessions allow for greater variety and creativity. In addition to headshots, we explore different lighting, backgrounds, and camera distances to create a broader range of images.
These sessions are ideal for personal branding and marketing, providing a more versatile collection of photographs.
Clothing
I recommend bringing a variety of clothing options that you feel confident and comfortable wearing — if you don’t love it, it will show on camera.
Different cuts, necklines, and colors photograph well and allow us to create variety. Layers work especially well, including jackets, sweaters, or blouses. For corporate headshots, suits, jackets, and polished blouse options are encouraged.
Keep jewelry simple and minimal. Small earrings, studs, or subtle necklaces work best, while large or distracting pieces can pull attention away from your face. If you wear glasses and have multiple pairs, please bring them so we can manage glare.
If you’re unsure about an outfit, bring it anyway — we’ll review options together during the session. A steamer is available in the studio to handle wrinkles as needed..
Headshot Sessions
For senior and engagement sessions, I recommend two outfits or looks.
One look should feel clean and polished, while the second can be more relaxed or expressive. This allows for visual variety and helps create a well-rounded final gallery...
